Bob Bullock Museum
The Bob Bullock Museum is an Austin museum completely dedicated to Texas history. It boasts a massive amount of content, interactive games and displays, and an IMAX theatre that plays both historical movies and movies that are currently playing in theatres. It covers a large span of Texas history, with displays and even entire sections devoted to specific moments in Texas history.
Austin History Center
The location of the history collection of the Austin Public Library and Austin's historical archive. Seen by most as one of the best such facilities in the entire United States. It has work from Austin craftsmen such as Fortunat Wiegl. The center celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2005, and houses thousands upon thousands of historical documents, literature, artifacts, and photographs.
Austin Capitol Building
The Austin capitol building houses the Texas state government. It includes chambers for the governor and the Texas legislature. The building is included in the National Register of Historic Places and is recognized as a National Historic Landmark. The interior includes a multitude of artwork, including portraits of every president of the former Republic of Texas, a painting depicting Santa Anna's surrender at San Jacinto, and sculptures of Sam Houston and Stephen F. Austin.
The UT Tower
The University of Texas Tower is one of the most well-known landmarks on the university's campus.
The 307-foot tall tower boasts a amazing view from its observation deck. The deck looks out over the entire UT campus and much of Austin. As part of the recent renovation process, disabled persons can now enjoy this great view of the city of Austin.

LBJ Library
One of the 13 Presidential Libraries. The huge building houses over forty-five million historical documents, including the papers of the former President and his close associates. His wife is buried there in peaceful repose. The building underwent a massive renovation, and has recently been reopened to the public. However, an admission fee will soon be charged for the first time since the library opened.
Camp Mabry
Camp Mabry is the base of operations of the Texas Military Forces. It is the third oldest functioning military installment in Texas. It houses the headquarters of many important state military groups, such as The Texas Air and Army National Guards and the Texas State Guard. It also houses the Texas Military Forces Museum. The "camp" also does multiple rein-actions of famous battles in Texas history.
